Belarusian soldiers can sign Russian army contract to fight in Ukraine war - Victor Yahun
Ukrainian SBU Major General Victor Yahun says that Belarusian servicemen can sign a contract with the Russian army if they want to join the Russia's war against Ukraine
The deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine from 2014 to 2015 shared the details in the Verdict with Serhii Rudenko program on Espreso TV.
"There is an unspoken permission from the authorities of Belarus for Belarusian servicemen to be able to sign contracts with the Russian army if they wish. That is, if they have a desire to fight, they can change into Russian uniforms and participate in military operations as part of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation", Yahun said.
The Major General of the SBU added that even if the army of Belarus participates in the war against Ukraine, the number of such troops, according to experts, will reach 20,000.
"The Belarusian military hopes that they will walk along the border and not take part in Russia's war against Ukraine. If we take into account the full participation of the Belarusian army, experts estimate about 20,000 soldiers who can cross the border. This will take more than a week", Victor Yahun noted.
