Former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Mykola Malomuzh believes that self-proclaimed President Lukashenko will dissuade Putin from attacking Ukraine from the territory of Belarus

He expressed his opinion on the air of the Espreso TV channel.

"Lukashenko is not ready to go to war against Ukraine. Because it would mean the end for his regime and it would mean a blow from the rear for the Russian army. Therefore, I believe that Lukashenko will convince Putin not to repeat the attack on the territory of Ukraine from Belarus," explained Malomuzh.

The general emphasized that Belarusians and the army of Belarus do not want to fight against Ukraine.

"Belarusians and the army of Belarus can go against Lukashenko. They do not want to fight against Ukraine. Not because they love Ukrainians, but because they are very worried about their own lives. Ukraine is already prepared for a possible repeat of the offensive from the territory of Belarus. Therefore, Lukashenko will try to convince Putin that the Ukrainians may counterattack and the Belarusian army may turn against the Russians," he added.
