Denmark to provide €380mln to Ukraine for critical infrastructure using renewable energy
Ukraine and Denmark have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on long-term cooperation and reconstruction of Ukraine, under which the Danish government will provide Kyiv with €380 million to support critical infrastructure using renewable energy
The Ministry of Finance reports.
In addition to €380 million, Denmark will provide €40 million to support the private sector in Ukraine, which is involved in the reconstruction of the country.
The Danish government will also allocate additional funding to the Ukrainian EIFO mechanism in the amount of about €380 million.
The Ministry of Finance notes that the two countries will work on opportunities for cooperation in the shipbuilding industry, including naval capabilities.
"This may include Ukraine's participation in the development of Danish patrol vessels with the possibility of concluding a future procurement agreement," the agency said.
According to the agreements, the two countries will facilitate a dialogue between Danish foundations and Ukrainian partners for further cooperation in rebuilding Ukraine. At the same time, the parties agreed to facilitate meetings between their businesses and implement loan and guarantee mechanisms to support Ukraine.
"Ukraine's fight for freedom is our fight for freedom. We must continue to support your country. And Danish business has repeatedly shown what it is made of. We must not allow Putin's attacks to prevent us from investing in rebuilding a free Ukraine. Our cooperation has already been fruitful, but now we will make it even stronger, so that Danish knowledge and innovation can benefit Ukrainians and help you rebuild your country," assured Danish Minister of Enterprise Morten Bødskov.
- On April 16, the Danish government announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 2.2 billion kroner (about 295 million euros) to support the country's maritime potential.
