Zelenskyy says he has not yet received response on meeting with Xi Jinping
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had not received a reply to his offer for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with the Japanese newspaper The Yomiuri Shimbun.
According to him, he has not gotten any reaction from China to the 10-point "peace formula" proposed by Ukraine and the proposal for a summit meeting.
"I did not get a proposal from China to mediate. I didn’t get the proposal to meet. I also, by diplomatic channels, gave straight messages that I want to speak with the leader of China," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president also expressed skepticism about China's 12-point proposal calling for a ceasefire and peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that "respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity" should come first.
