After meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping plans to have a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The Financial Times reported the information.
According to the outlet’s sources, after his visit to Moscow, Xi Jinping may call Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This will be Xi's first direct contact with Zelenskyy after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Experts attribute the decision to finally have a conversation to Beijing's desire to assert itself as a potential peacemaker.
The FT notes that Xi Jinping's communication with Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely to be virtual, not personal.
