This was announced by the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

“Today, around 11 o'clock, there was a drone attempting to reach Moscow. But our air defense forces destroyed it before it could get close. Great job, soldiers!” his message said.

Meanwhile, Russian media reports that Moscow's Vnukovo airport has temporarily restricted incoming and outgoing flights. They diverted some flights to other airports in the Moscow aviation hub due to security reasons, starting from 10:26 a.m.

As usual, the Russian Ministry of Defense blamed Ukraine for the drone attack. They claimed that the air defense forces stopped an "attempt by the Kyiv regime" to carry out a "terrorist drone attack on objects in the territory of the Moscow region."

The anti-aircraft system destroyed the drone in the Podolsk district. There were no casualties or damage.

Drone attacks on Moscow

On the night of July 24, explosions were heard in different parts of Moscow. Reports from Russian media and Telegram indicated damage to a building near the Ministry of Defense and a business center.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, a building on Komsomolsky Prospekt, not far from the Ministry of Defense, had broken glass, and drone fragments were found nearby. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin later confirmed this.

TASS, citing emergency services, reported that drone fragments were found on Komsomolsky Prospekt, and another drone hit the high-rise business center on Likhachova Street.

Mayor Sobyanin mentioned that two drones allegedly targeted the city, but the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed they stopped the attempted attack by Ukrainian drones.

On July 30, explosions were allegedly heard in Moscow and its suburbs. Drones attacked the city and were reportedly shot down by air defense.

According to TASS, an explosion occurred in the IQ-quarter building within the Moscow-City business center. The glazing on the fifth and sixth floors was damaged, leading to evacuations from the complex. The Oko-2 tower also had broken glass from the first to the fourth floor, which turned out to house several Russian ministries.

On August 1, another drone attack targeted Moscow. Two drones were apparently shot down by air defense, and one hit the same Moscow City tower, damaging the floor where the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation is located.

As usual, the Russian Ministry of Defense blamed Ukraine for the attacks, and Vnukovo airport in Moscow was closed during both incidents.
