Ukraine has capacity to produce 4 million drones per year, defense minister says

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov shared this news, according to LIGA.net.

“So far, the front has received around 1.5 million drones. These were bought by the Defense Procurement Agency, the State Special Communications Service, and the brigades themselves,” he said.

The Ministry of Defense and the government set aside UAH 2.5 billion each month to let brigades buy drones directly. But not all brigades use this money. That’s why the DOT Chain Defense system was created, serving as a drone marketplace where brigades can pick what they need, and the government pays for it.

According to Umerov, this will speed up deliveries and make the Ukrainian military stronger.

“This growth is a key reason we can improve long-range and frontline abilities and build a reserve for the future,” the minister said.
