Ukraine capable of producing 10 million drones annually — Defense Ministry
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Kozenko says that the Ukrainian defense industry has the capacity to produce 10 million different drones per year
He made this statement during a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore.
Also present at the event were U.S. Indo-Pacific Commander Admiral Samuel Paparo, German Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer, Indian Chief of Defense General Anil Chauhan, and Brazilian Joint Staff Chief Admiral Renato Rodriguez.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister briefed forum participants on Ukraine’s defense industry capabilities, especially in drone production. He pointed out that Ukrainian drones are significantly cheaper than other options, and most importantly — have been tested in combat.
"Ukraine has taken the drone industry to a new level and is developing advanced solutions in the air, on land, and at sea. Today, Ukraine’s defense industry can produce up to 10 million drones per year," Kozenko said.
He also stressed that, based on daily experience from Ukrainian drone operators, Ukraine is updating its military doctrine for using these weapons.
According to him, drones are responsible for 80% of all battlefield damage.
At the end of his remarks, the Deputy Minister invited international defense companies to partner with Ukraine’s defense industry — through funding, joint production, and experience exchange.
- Earlier this year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is a global leader in drone manufacturing.
