UK Prime Minister Starmer confirms Ukraine can strike Russian territory with Storm Shadows missiles
Newly appointed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said at the NATO Summit in Washington that Ukraine could use Storm Shadows missiles to strike Russia
Bloomberg reported.
According to Starmer, Ukraine can use British Storm Shadow missiles to hit military targets in Russia. He also confirmed that he would continue the previous UK government's policy of using long-range weapons in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The British Prime Minister added that these missiles should be used in accordance with international humanitarian law, for defensive purposes.
“But it is for Ukraine to decide how to deploy it for those defensive purposes,” Starmer said.
Reference. Storm Shadow is a long-range cruise missile developed jointly by the United Kingdom and France. It is usually launched from the air. With a range of more than 250 km, or 155 miles, it is only slightly inferior to the 185-mile range of the US Army's Air-to-Air Cruise Missile System (ATACMS).

Later on May 10, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that if Ukraine fires Storm Shadow missiles at Russian territory, Russia could attack the UK.
On May 29, Ukraine's Ministry of Strategic Industries confirmed that Ukraine had already fired Storm Shadow missiles at Russian territory.
