"We'll target not only Kyiv': Medvedev threatens to attack UK for helping Ukraine
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitri Medvedev threatens to attack the United Kingdom if Ukraine launches Storm Shadow missiles at Russian territory
He wrote about this on Telegram.
Medvedev recalled how he worked with David Cameron when he was prime minister of the United Kingdom and noted that he was not such a Russophobe then.
"Yes, he was an average person, no more. And now? 'Ukrainians, you can shoot our missiles wherever you want'. And we, the British, are not afraid of anything, not even a nuclear conflict... In vain, mate," wrote the deputy head of the Russian Security Council.
"After all, Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG is not run by fools in embroidered shirts, but by the British and French. Under certain circumstances, the answer for this will fly not only to Kyiv," he added, noting that Russia could attack with nuclear weapons.
According to him, practicing a response to strikes on Russian territory with British missiles is the goal of the planned nuclear exercises.
- On May 2, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that Ukraine has the right to use British weapons to strike at Russian territory. In response, Russia threatened to strike at UK military facilities.
- On May 10, Cameron called on NATO countries to increase defense spending to 2.5% of GDP.
