Bakhmut situation is difficult, but not critical, Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattacks - military expert

"Right now, the most appropriate decision would be to withdraw beyond the Bakhmutka River. It will be an excellent natural obstacle for Russian troops, helping Ukrainian forces organize the active defense," he explained.

The expert noted that Russians are still attempting to seize Ukrainian logistics routes in Bakhmut.

"Russian forces are trying to advance from the captured villages of Berkhivka and Yahidne in the direction of Khromove. They are trying to take the road from Bakhmut to Chasiv Yar under control to block our logistics. The situation in Bakhmut is difficult, but not critical. We hold our positions. Moreover, Ukrainian units are conducting counter attacks near Ivanivske," he added.

• On March 4, the NSDC Secretary Danilov stated that the situation in Bakhmut is extremely difficult, but remains under control.

• Military experts are convinced that Ukrainian soldiers have completed their tasks near Bakhmut, and we can withdraw. ISV reports that Ukrainian forces are probably preparing for a controlled withdrawal of troops from some districts of Bakhmut.
