Victorious news of 359th day of war: France supplies Akeron anti-tank missile systems, and aviation strikes at Russian positions in Kherson region
France has supplied Ukraine with Akeron anti-tank missile systems that hit further than Javelin, and Ukraine’s aviation has struck the enemy in Hola Prystan and Pishchanivka
France has supplied Ukraine with Akeron ATGMs, which is more effective than Javelin
France has supplied the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 5th generation Missile Moyenne Portee, also known as MMP or Akeron MP, anti-tank guided missile systems.
"The French positioned these missiles as their Javelin counterpart, but they have a longer-range missile. The best part of this situation is that the French have just put this missile into service. The first live firing took place at the end of 2021," Defense Express expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi told Espreso.
He believes that perhaps the Ukrainian military will be able to use these French Akeron MP missiles more effectively than the American Javelin.

Russians near Bakhmut dump bodies of their dead in trenches
Russian troops used the tactic of "waves of human attacks" around Bakhmut. This is a type of offensive that involves sending as many soldiers as possible without protection to overwhelm the enemy with a huge amount of manpower.
As a result, the enemy's losses in the Bakhmut sector are so great that they do not even try to evacuate the dead.
"The Russian forces are sending a lot of soldiers (to Bakhmut - ed.)... There are places where their bodies are simply piled up. There is a trench where... they simply do not evacuate their wounded or killed," said Taras Dzioba, a spokesman for the Ukrainian 80th Air Assault Brigade.
West strikes at Russian spy network
A blow to the Kremlin's spy network is one of the consequences of the war with Ukraine that Putin failed to foresee, The Washington Post reports.
"Over the past year, as Western governments have ramped up weapons deliveries to Ukraine and economic sanctions against Moscow, U.S. and European security services have been waging a parallel if less visible campaign to cripple Russian spy networks," the article says.
According to the publication, more than 400 suspected Russian intelligence officers from Moscow's embassies were expelled from Europe alone last year. This is the biggest blow to the Kremlin's spy network since the Cold War.
