Ukrainian troops eliminate over 100 Russian soldiers near Soledar
The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit artillery and Tochka-U system concentrations of Russian troops near Soledar, eliminating more than 100 Russian servicemen

The Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.
More than 100 Russian soldiers were eliminated near Soledar by Ukraine’s Special Forces, artillerymen and missile troops.
"Operators of the Special Operations Forces detected Russian personnel concentration in several areas. Artillery was directed at the enemy, and a Tochka-U tactical missile system was launched at one of the sites," the Special Operations Forces noted.
- On January 10, Russian troops tried to attack Soledar from 3 directions, according to Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets.
- On the same day, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Serhiy Cherevatyi said that Russian troops fired 86 times at Soledar from artillery during the day.
- The Institute for the Study of War said that Russian troops did not capture Soledar completely, despite several false statements that the town had fallen and that Bakhmut was under threat of imminent encirclement. And even the potential capture of Soledar will not mean that Bakhmut will be surrounded.
- In the morning report on January 11, the AFU General Staff reported that over the past day, the Ukrainian military repelled Russian attacks near Hrianykivka, Kharkiv region, Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region, and 11 other settlements of the Donetsk region. In the Bakhmut direction, Russian attacks were registered near 9 settlements of the Donetsk region.
- Also on January 11, Colonel Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, denied Russian claims that Soledar is under Russian control.
- In the afternoon of the same day, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Maliar reported that in the town of Soledar Russian troops are trying to break through the defense, heavy fighting continues.
- As of Wednesday evening, January 11, the United States had no confirmation of the reports spread by Russia about the alleged capture of the Ukrainian town of Soledar.
