Russia tries to attack Soledar from three sides - Serhiy Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, CEO of the Defense Express military expert group, noted that the situation around Soledar is a continuation of the long-lasting hostile attacks on Bakhmut
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Russia is trying to bypass Bakhmut from the south and north to cut the supply lines, but its forces is still far from the supply lines. Soledar is located to the north of Bakhmut and Russia is trying to break through the town to get to the road that supplies Bakhmut from Sloviansk. The situation in Soledar is difficult. Russia intensified its assault actions, adding new forces to this area. Ukrainian Armed Forces inflict significant losses on Russia," noted Zgurets.
Expert claims the situation around Soledar is complicated by the fact that earlier the Russian forces captured Yakovlivka in the Bakhmut district.
"This settlement hangs over Soledar from the north and allows the Russian army to strike at the valley where Soledar is located. Russia is trying to attack the town from three sides. Additional units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be redeployed there. It will be difficult to knock out Russia and our defense is getting tougher. We will attack and liberate Donbas," Zgurets emphasized.
