The video of the city on fire was published on the Facebook page and on Telegram of the Command of the Special Operations Forces.
"We are standing! The Special Operations Forces soldiers together with their comrades continue to defend Bakhmut!" reads the description of the video.
The footage shows that phosphorus ammunition was used in Bakhmut. This information was confirmed in a comment to Ukrayinska Pravda by the press service of the Special Operations Forces.
"The enemy used phosphorus and incendiary ammunition in Bakhmut, trying to wipe the city off the map. However, the soldiers of the SOF and other units of the Defense Forces continue to bravely defend the city. And in these conditions, we continue to destroy the enemy," they said.
- The founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, wrote a letter to the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, in which he announced his intention to withdraw his mercenaries from Bakhmut on May 10.
- Ukrainian intelligence believes that the reason for such statements is that Prigozhin cannot fulfil another promise - to capture Bakhmut by May 9.
