Prigozhin will not withdraw mercenaries from Bakhmut – intelligence
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine believes that Wagner's claims on the withdrawal of forces were made to justify the unfulfilled promise to capture Bakhmut by May 9
Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, told RBC-Ukraine.
"Prigozhin will not withdraw Wagner forces from Bakhmut. He made these statements amid the fact that he cannot fulfill another promise – to capture Bakhmut by May 9. That is why he is now trying to make someone else responsible for this, because he now realizes that he cannot keep his word," said Chernyak.
According to the official, the Main Intelligence Directorate does not record any withdrawals of troops in the area of Bakhmut.
At the same time, Chernyak noted that Wagner's troops, of course, have certain problems with ammunition supply.
"But no matter how much they are given, it will not be enough. That is, the more they are given, the more they need and the more they want to receive," the Chernyak noted.
