He said this on Espreso TV.

"Positional fighting continues in the Vuhledar sector. After the invading Russian forces were knocked out of their positions, the Defense Forces are striking at the occupiers in Mykilske. Active fighting continues to the west of Vuhledar, in the area of Velyka Novosilka," emphasized Voitko.

According to a Ukrainian serviceman, in the Vuhledar sector, Ukrainian forces continue to assault the village of Zavitne Bazhannya.

"Active fighting continues on the flanks west of Vuhledar near Pryiutne and east of Novodonetske. The enemy suffers significant losses in manpower and equipment. Ukrainian Defense Forces units are advancing day by day, liberating our land," emphasized Voitko.

  • On August 21, the General Staff reported that over 25 combat engagements took place on the frontline overnight, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducting an offensive at the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions.

  • Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has lost 258,340 soldiers. On August 21, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Klishchiyivka, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to hold back the Russian offensive in the areas of Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka.
