Ukraine continues counteroffensive in at least four directions — ISW

The Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting counteroffensive actions in at least four areas of the front.

According to experts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched local ground strikes west and south of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, stated that Ukrainian forces are continuing their counteroffensive operations near Bakhmut. However, Russian sources claim that Ukrainian units attacked the northern and southern outskirts of Bakhmut.

The Russian Ministry of Defense and other Russian sources also assert that Russian forces repelled limited Ukrainian ground attacks on the Avdiivka-Donetsk line. 

Experts suggest that the Armed Forces continued their counteroffensive to the south, southwest, and southeast of Velyka Novosilka near the administrative border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Furthermore, units of the Armed Forces conducted counteroffensive operations southwest and southeast of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Maliar also mentioned that Ukrainian forces have made advancements of up to two kilometers in various directions in southern Ukraine.

• On June 5, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar reported on the progress of the offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their success in the Bakhmut direction. 

• On June 6, Pentagon head Lloyd Austin explained that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have the potential to breach the Russian defense.

• Ihor Lapin, a special officer and People's Deputy of the 8th convocation, noted that combat reconnaissance by the Armed Forces of Ukraine is ongoing on the front line. 

• On June 10, military expert Roman Svitan assured that by the end of the following week, we would witness actual movement by the Armed Forces, covering distances of kilometers rather than just hundreds of meters.

• On June 15, analysts from the ISW reported that Ukrainian soldiers in the Kreminna area of the Luhansk region managed to eliminate approximately 100 Russian soldiers and wound the same number.
