ISW suggests that the absence of visible Russian units and the placement of units on the secondary defense lines in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region could imply that elements from units already engaged in combat might be taking up these positions.
Reports mention a probable shortage of Russian reserves and limited movements to the western Zaporizhzhia region, along with inactive isolated units on the second defense line. These factors collectively suggest that the Russian second defense line might be notably less fortified.
The Ministry of Defense informed about the Armed Forces' successful operations near Robotyne and south of Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region on August 21.
On August 22, it was reported that the Ukrainian military achieved success towards Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region, consolidating their positions along the gained frontiers. Simultaneously, Russians are shifting their forces and utilizing reserves.
On Tuesday, August 22, the Ukrainian defenders, a part of the 47th separate mechanized brigade, entered the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region and managed the safe evacuation of civilians.
It was reported that the Ukrainian army has entered Robotyne; however, there are still Russian units positioned on the outskirts.
