UK supports international agreement to provide Ukraine with German tanks

The UK supports an international agreement to provide Ukraine with German-made tanks, which requires German consent

This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement by British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

"Britain still wants an international deal to provide Ukraine with the German-made tanks that Kyiv says it needs in its fight against Russia but whose transfer needs Germany's consent," Cleverly said.

He emphasized that he would like to see the Ukrainians armed with equipment such as the Leopard 2, as well as artillery systems provided by Britain and other NATO countries.

The British minister also assured that he would continue negotiations with allies and partners in the Alliance to facilitate the transfer of the best military equipment to Ukraine and help it defend itself against the brutal Russian invasion.

Asked whether Germany is doing enough to support Ukraine, Cleverly said he would like to see "everybody going as far as they can, but each country will support Ukraine in a way that is most appropriate to them"
