Russia's attacks in Lyman direction have no success - military administration
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground, successfully repelling all Russian attacks near Nadiia and Makiivka, Luhansk region
Roman Vlasenko, the head of the military administration of Sievierodonetsk district, told Espreso TV channel.
"Indeed, the invaders remain with aviation and artillery, destroying infrastructure but the situation on the ground is controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Vlasenko said.
According to him, the military situation has generally stabilized.
"The invaders tried to attack Ukrainian Armed Forces units and positions, but were unsuccessful. Amid the intensification of hostilities in and around Avdiivka, in terms of ground operations, we have a certain decrease of activity," summarized Vlasenko.

On October 18, British intelligence named the main target of the Russian offensive in the Kupyansk-Lyman sector. It reported that Russia had increased its offensive activity in this direction, as the invaders wanted to create a buffer zone around the Luhansk region. According to the guerrillas, Russia is moving equipment from Luhansk to the Kupyansk direction.

Later, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Shevtsov, head of the press service of the Stalevyi Kordon (Steel Frontier) assault brigade, spoke about Russia's goal in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction.

On October 23, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of Ukraine's Land Forces, said that the invaders were trying to surround Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.
