The head of the press service of the Stalevyi Front (Steel Frontier) assault brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Shevtsov, shared the information on Espreso TV.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have secured strategic high-rise positions in the area, established defensive measures, and are making preparations for the upcoming winter season.
"We had time to entrench, make dugouts and prepare good firing positions. Trained soldiers are working in this area. These are soldiers who have fought in Klishchiivka and Bakhmut and are now holding strong in the Kupyansk direction," emphasized Shevtsov.
- On October 18, British intelligence named the main target of the Russian offensive in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction. It reported that over the past two weeks, Russia has increased its activity in offensive operations in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction. Thus, Russian troops want to create a buffer zone around the Luhansk region.
- On October 19, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 15 attacks near the settlements of Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region, and over 10 attacks near Nadiya inthe Luhansk region.
