20 million cubic meters of water spilled out of the Kurakhove Reservoir after Russian forces damaged the dam
According to Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, 20 million cubic meters of water spilled out of the Kurakhove Reservoir after Russian troops blew up its dam. The reservoir had originally contained 55 million cubic meters of water.
Filashkin clarified that there has been no flooding of settlements, and there is no immediate threat to the population in the nearby villages. He confirmed that all children in the affected areas had been evacuated in advance.
Earlier, on November 12, Filashkin reported that 15 million cubic meters of water had already leaked out from the damaged dam. However, the villages along the Vovcha River remain unaffected by flooding. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates if there are significant changes.
