Russian troops shell Kramatorsk and Kurakhove, civilian injured

In the morning of January 6, Russian troops have shelled Kramatorsk and Kurakhove, Donetsk region, damaging houses and hospital wards, injuring a civilian

Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko clarifies that Russian forces shelled the Kurakhove city hospital, in particular the infectious diseases department, where 21 Ukrainians were hospitalized.

"A hospital employee was injured. She is receiving medical care," Tymoshenko wrote.

Earlier, Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed on the shelling of Kurakhove. 

"The day in Kurakhove started with enemy shelling," he wrote.

Russian troops reportedly shelled the city center, hit 2 high-rise buildings and a private house.

"This is not the first time Kurakhove has suffered such a blow. And, unfortunately, it will not be the last, for sure. Staying in the town is dangerous! Evacuate in a timely manner," Kyrylenko added.

 

Also, Russian forces shelled the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, this morning.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, Kramatorsk Mayor, reported the shelling on Facebook.

"Kramatorsk is under fire. Stay in shelters," the mayor wrote at 08:58 a.m.

As of 12:53 a.m., Kyrylo Tymoshenko informed that Russian troops launched 2 missile attacks at Kramatorsk.

"Kramatorsk. A private house was hit. Preliminary, there are no victims," Tymoshenko writes.

Emergency services are working at the scene.

At 13:03 a.m., the Kramatorsk mayor wrote that 14 civilian houses were damaged.

"As a result of another Russian act of terror against the civilian population of Kramatorsk, 14 private houses were damaged by missile strikes," the mayor wrote.

The air alarm alert in the Donetsk region was triggered at 08:53 a.m. and ended at 09:27 a.m.
