Russians to make a "goodwill gesture" in Bakhmut: military Sazonov names condition
When the Ukrainian Army takes control of the highway from Bakhmut to Soledar, Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, and Luhansk, the invaders will have to make a "gesture of goodwill"
Ukrainian army serviceman and political analyst Kyrylo Sazonov told this Espreso TV channel.
"The invaders' logistics have already become more complicated, the only remaining highway is from Bakhmut to Soledar, Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, and Luhansk. When we take it under control, it will be difficult for the enemy to supply. It is impossible to fight without logistics, as we saw in Kherson. In Bakhmut, the enemy group has about 10,000 troops, including tanks and equipment. Without timely supplies, it will be very difficult for them and they will have to make a "gesture of goodwill" or fight to the last bullet and surrender," Sazonov said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Defense Forces are working to take Bakhmut under a half-encircled state. Ilya Yevlash, head of the press service of the eastern command, says it is quite possible.
"Near Klishchiivka and Andriivka the enemy is rushing to the positions, trying to repel them constantly, but nothing works. The leading groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have crossed the railroad somewhere. The Mariupol-Donetsk-Horlivka highway is under fire control, through Bakhmut to Sloviansk and then to Rostov or Kharkiv," explained the military.
To the north of Bakhmut, the situation is quite difficult, Russia is holding its positions and trying to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of Bohdanivka and Hryhorivka, but they are not able to advance, Sazanov said.
"We can already see Berkhivka and Berkhivka reservoir, and from there we can see Bakhmut with the naked eye, so it will probably be closing," the political analyst summarized.
- The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes that Ukrainian defenders continue their offensive and have advanced in the area of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region and Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
- On October 5, a commander of the 3rd Brigade spoke about the prospects for advancement near Bakhmut. According to him, Andriivka was a key point for controlling the southern flank of Bakhmut. Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces not only control the railroad but can use artillery to reach the Berkhivka-Bakhmut highway.
- On October 6, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian defenders in the Bakhmut direction succeeded east of Andriivka, Donetsk region. Russia unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position in the area east of Dyliivka, Donetsk region. Defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy, and consolidating their positions.
