Russia loses 20 tanks, 29 UAVs and 620 soldiers in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 6, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about 281,090 (+620 per day)

• aircraft - 315

General Staff report: Russian army unsuccessfully tries to recapture Dyliivka, Donetsk region

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not launch any assault operations.

In Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks south of Makiivka, Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops were successful east of Andriivka, Donetsk region. Russian forces unsuccessfully tried to regain their lost position east of Dyliivka, Donetsk region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their own positions.

In Avdiivka and Marinka directions, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Moreover, they carried out 14 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled attacks near 2 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders are holding back Russian troops southeast of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.

In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

Russian army launches 3 missile and 65 air strikes on Ukraine

Over the past day, 37 combat clashes took place on the frontline.

In total, Russia launched 3 missile attacks, 65 air strikes, and 50MLS attacks at both the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects in the country.

In addition, Russia attacked Ukraine with 29 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the southeast. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 24 Shaheds. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Russian troops launched air strikes on 19 settlements across Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

Over 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroy a Russian communication hub and a surface-to-air missile system

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment and 7 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed a Russian communications center, an anti-aircraft missile system, a heavy flamethrower system, 9 artillery pieces, a fuel and lubricant depot, a radar station, and an electronic warfare station.

• On October 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four attacks east of Makiivka, Luhansk region.
• ISW noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted successful offensives near Andriivka, Donetsk region, as well as Robotyne and Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, over the past day.
