Russian army reinforces its positions in Kupyansk direction - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in a morning briefing on April 25.

"The enemy focuses on offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions," the statement reads. 

Ukrainian defense forces repulsed 43 Russian attacks in the above-mentioned areas over the last day. 

The fiercest fighting is for the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down 10 drones and destroyed 2 Russian electronic warfare and air defense stations 

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 9 strikes on the areas of the Russian occupiers' personnel and military equipment concentration, as well as 3 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders shot down 10 various enemy UAVs .

Meanwhile, missile and artillery units destroyed an anti-aircraft missile system and 2 Russian electronic warfare stations during the day.

Russia launched 6 missile and 62 air strikes on Ukraine over the last day

On April 24, the Russian troops launched 6 missile strikes and 62 air strikes, firing 70 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

Situation in the following directions

The situation in the Northern and northwestern Ukrainian border remains unchanged. No signs of offensive groupings formation were detected.

In the Northern and north-eastern part of Ukraine, the Russian troops keep a military presence in the districts of Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine. Over the past day, they fired at 2 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 8 in the Sumy region, and 7 in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian army continues to fortify positions in certain areas. 10 settlements in the Kharkiv region and 1 in Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar fire from the Russian Federation.

In the Lyman direction, the invaders did not conduct offensive actions. Four localities in the Luhansk region and four in Donetsk region suffered artillery attacks.

The Russian occupiers continue to conduct offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction. Heavy fighting is underway for the city of Bakhmut. In addition, over the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked the towns of Novomarkove and Khromove. 11 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army launched offensives near 4 localities in the Donetsk region, but they were unsuccessful. Eight localities in the Donetsk region were under fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled enemy attacks in the area of Marinka and near Novomykhailivka over the last day. Seven localities in the Donetsk region came under hostile fire.

In the Vuhledar direction, the enemy troops did not conduct any offensive actions yesterday. They shelled 4 localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the adversary is on the defensive. At the same time, the Russian soldiers opened fire on settlements near the frontline. Among them are 2 settlements in Donetsk region; 6 in Zaporizhzhia region; 2 in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

In Khrustalne, Luhansk region, the invaders set up a military hospital on the territory of the city hospital

To provide medical care to their wounded, Russian invaders continue to actively use medical facilities in the settlements of the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.

In particular, in the city of Khrustalne, the Russian occupiers deployed a military hospital on the territory of the city hospital.
