Russian army has lost over 280,000 military in Ukraine during full-scale invasion

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on October 5.

General Staff report: Defense forces repelled Russian attacks in three directions

The General Staff stated in its daily report.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled an Russian attack in the area north of Zybyne, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 Russian attacks in the areas east of Makiivka, Luhansk region, and northwest of Dibrova, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near the settlements of Hryhorivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the Russian invaders unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, and improve the tactical situation near Lastochkino, Donetsk region. They launched over 15 unsuccessful attacks in the vicinity of Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled hostile attacks near Zolota Nyva and Rivne in Donetsk region. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Novodarivka, Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, continue to consolidate their positions and exhaust the Russian enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue counter-battery combat, destroying warehouses and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Russian army launched 5 missile and 60 air strikes on the Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, 57 combat clashes took place on the frontline.

In total, Russia launched 5 missile and 60 air strikes, fired 47 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian objects in Ukraine. 

In addition, last night, the invaders attacked Ukraine using 29 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 24 hostile Shahed drones.

2 settlements in Kharkiv region; 3 in Luhansk region; 14 in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; and 3 in Kherson region were subjected to air strikes.

Over 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Defense Forces hit Russian command post and ammunition depot 

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 13 strikes on the areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration.

Missile troops struck a command center, 3 areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, 10 artillery pieces and a Russian ammunition depot.

• Over the past day, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 8 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Marinka, and another 6 near Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

• According to the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian defenders advanced in the area of Bakhmut in Donetsk region and Novoprokopivka in Zaporizhzhia region.
