Ukrainians will fight with bare hands if no conditions for lasting peace — CIA chief
CIA Director John Ratcliffe believes that Ukrainian resistance is underestimated and that Ukraine will not accept peace terms unless they are reasonable
He made this statement in response to a question from Republican Senator Jerry Moran during a hearing in the U.S. Senate on global threats to America's national interests, as reported by TSN, citing C-SPAN 3.
Ratcliffe stated that the ongoing negotiations clearly reflect President Trump's desire to end the war on terms that would bring it to a permanent halt. From the perspective of the intelligence community, and specifically the CIA, steps have been taken to support the President's goal of achieving lasting peace.
He expressed his opinion on the Ukrainian resistance.
The CIA Director stated that the Ukrainian people and army have been underestimated for several years. Ultimately, he is convinced, based on his observations and intelligence, that they will fight with bare hands if they do not have conditions that are acceptable for lasting peace.
