Ukraine's Khortytsia troop grouping names hottest frontline areas
Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, says that the most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions
He shared the information on Espreso TV on June 17.
"The most intense and fierce fighting continues in both the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. The Pokrovsk direction has been the hottest along the entire contact line for months. Last week alone, 240 Russia's attacks were repelled there, and for comparison, there were 252 attacks the previous week. This means that the Russian army is not giving up its attempts and is not reducing the intensity of its offensive actions,” commented Nazar Voloshyn.
According to him, Russia is concentrating its efforts in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Nevelske, Yasnobrodivka, Sokil, Umanske, Novoselivka, and Netaylove.
"Already today, on June 17, there have been 20 Russia's attacks in this area. The situation is complicated by Russia's relentless attempts to advance. However, Ukrainian soldiers are working hard to prevent the invaders from moving deeper into Ukrainian territory. Over the past day, the occupying army has suffered significant losses in this area, with more than 300 Russian soldiers killed or wounded. Additionally, Ukraine destroyed and damaged several units of Russian armored vehicles and 5 blindages along with their soldiers,” noted Voloshyn.
- In the past 24 hours, 123 combat clashes occurred at the front as of 1:00 p.m. on June 17. Russian forces are most actively attacking Ukrainian Defense Force positions in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Lyman directions.
