Trump cannot keep ties with Putin and avoid West conflict, journalist says
There is simply no way for Donald Trump to maintain excellent relations with Putin without quarreling with the West and bringing Ukraine to surrender
This opinion was expressed by journalist and former member of the Polish Sejm Miroslaw Czech during an Espreso broadcast.
“The Pope is a citizen of the United States. Trump does not know how to get out of the so-called peace process in Ukraine, because he was explained that it is not that simple. It won’t be that Witkoff goes to Moscow, agrees on the Russian agenda, Zelenskyy agrees, and Ukrainians thank Trump. That stage is over. Instead, the Vatican as a place for ceasefire negotiations and then ending the war would allow Trump to say that he found a great place, there is the Pope who is a U.S. citizen and perfectly understands Ukraine and Russia, and hand over the peace process to the Vatican. In his understanding, this would be a way out while saving face,” Czech explained.
The journalist is convinced that Donald Trump is trying to exit the negotiation process regarding the war settlement in Ukraine.
“All Trump’s actions and words mean one thing: he does not know how to leave the peace process in Ukraine. Because there is simply no way for Trump to keep great relations with Putin and at the same time avoid conflicts with the West and not cause Ukraine’s capitulation. He has to choose whom he supports – the whites or the reds. At the beginning of his second term, Trump said he was for the reds. Then he was explained that this was a bad path,” he added.
