Through Kurakhove to Vuhledar: Ukrainian military on Russian advancement attempts

The Russians cannot take Vuhledar because it is located on high ground. Therefore, their only option now is the direction of Kurakhove

This was reported by Mykhailo-Luka Kabus "Mahnat", Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, on the Espreso TV channel.

"The occupiers want to enter Vuhledar through Kurakhove. Surrounding cities to force the Ukrainian Armed Forces to retreat is the standard tactic of the Russians. Everyone understands the situation and is doing everything to prevent this encirclement in the future. There have been enough mistakes on the front line. I believe this painful experience is taken into account on this front, and forces and resources will be applied in time to prevent similar scenarios," Mahnat said.

The serviceman mentioned that heavy fighting was taking place near Novomykhailivka, indicating that Russia had deployed the most forces there to level the front line. He also remarked that it appeared the enemy was accumulating reserves.

"While we don't yet understand the direction the Russians will move in, their only option now is towards Kurakhove. They aim to level the line and advance towards Hеorhiivka. Bodies of water are hindering them. Overall, they're finding everything quite difficult. What the occupiers call advancement is actually very costly for them. The Russians have lost a lot of equipment and personnel. Therefore, a major breakthrough is not expected here. However, if the enemy deploys enough reserves, as they did in the Avdiivka direction, then perhaps we'll face some new challenges. Currently, the situation is as stable as possible given the resources available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he added.
