Russian offensive potential depleted, situation appears stabilized — military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, Director of the Information and Consulting Company Defense Express, notes the Russian army is employing small tactical groups across all front lines
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"The enemy has been conducting offensive actions since October of last year. Currently, if we highlight any particular directions, there are more attacks on the Novopavlivka direction, which surrounds Marinka, than near Avdiivka. However, what's interesting is that overall, despite the enemy's advantage, I would even start to say that across the entire front line, their offensive potential is running out. Of course, this is quite a bold statement, but we see that the enemy is using such small tactical groups across all sectors. And the advantage that was primarily in the Avdiivka direction did not materialize in the invader's desire to gain any operational space," commented the military expert.
According to him, on the challenging stretch Berdychi - Orlivka -Tonenke, the Russian forces are attacking, but the Ukrainian defense is quite effective.
"On March 13, General Syrskyi visited the front lines in Zaporizhzhia and Avdiivka and discussed measures to strengthen certain brigades. I understand that this is the Avdiivka direction, where there was a certain threat of enemy advancement, but due to the Ukrainian reserve, our electronic warfare assets, and artillery, such enemy movements will be thwarted. The second direction, where combat operations intensified apart from Marinka and Avdiivka, is the Zaporizhzhia front. We see attacks on Robotyne and Verbove there, as General Syrskyi also mentioned yesterday, but these occupier attacks are being repelled. In my opinion, the situation appears stabilized, and it will be much more effective if military assistance is increased now, particularly the supply of ammunition, which will greatly affect the nature of combat actions," summarized Serhiy Zgurets.
- Over the last day, 76 clashes took place in the frontline. Ukrainian troops repelled attacks in 6 directions eliminating 580 soldiers.
- Syrskyi visited the soldiers in the Avdiivka direction and named the most effective way of defense in the current conditions.
