Russian forces trying to create pressure point in Kupyansk sector - Ukrainian military
Viktor Petrovych, a serviceman with the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, says that Ukrainian defenders are preventing the Russian army from implementing the plan by repelling all attacks
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Russian attacks continue in the Kupyansk sector. Currently, the Russian army is active in the area of our brigade's responsibility - the Stelmakhivka area. This is the second month the Russians have been storming us. They have been amassing forces for some time, and while they are amassing forces, they are reducing their assaults. That is, they work more in small groups, with infantry, using less armored vehicles. As soon as the Russians have accumulated resources, they send all these resources to the assault. It can be 8-10 units of equipment that simultaneously go to our positions, using airborne troops and tanks," said Viktor Petrovych.
According to a serviceman of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, the Russians are trying to create a pain point in the Kupyansk sector.
"The Russians want to create a serious pain point in our direction, where they need to bring reinforcements and additional resources to hold the front. However, our servicemen do not allow the enemy to implement their plan, repelling all attacks," emphasized Viktor Petrovych.
- Over the course of June 6, 73 combat engagements took place, with Russian troops advancing in 7 directions.
- The Russian army continues to try to attack the Ukrainian positions in the south and east. For example, the enemy is advancing in Donetsk region, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the line in the Kharkiv sector.
