Ukrainian Armed Forces advance in Vovchansk direction - Kupyansk official
Andriy Kanashevych, head of the Kupyansk district military administration, says the situation in the Vovchansk direction has stabilized
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“Fighting is ongoing on the front line. We are talking about the contact line from Synkivka to Ivanivka - Kyslivka and further to Berestove. The enemy conducts daily assault operations there. The defense forces are successfully repelling all Russian actions. The enemy suffers significant losses, but continues to stubbornly move in the same directions. That is, these settlements remain the main areas of the Russian assault,” noted Kanashevych.
According to the head of the Kupyansk district military administration, there is currently no threat of further Russian advancement in Chuhuiv district and further into Kupyansk district.
"We were closely monitoring the Vovchansk direction. Because we realized that the enemy has opportunities to pass by Vovchansk, go to Bilyi Kolodiaz, and then go to Kupyansk district. This is a strategic direction. That is, there was a threat that the grouping of Ukrainian troops was being cut off. So it was a really dangerous area. But the situation in the Vovchansk direction is stabilized, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are even making progress there,” Kanashevych emphasized.
- Over the course of June 6, 73 combat clashes took place, and Russian troops are advancing in 7 directions.
- The Russian army keeps trying to attack Ukrainian positions in the south and east of Ukraine. In particular, Russian troops are advancing in the Donetsk region, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the line in the Kharkiv direction.
