Russian army concentrates efforts to seize Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration
Ukrainian Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov says that the Russian forces have intensified hostilities to implement their strategy for Donetsk and Luhansk regions
He said this on Espreso TV.
"It is obvious that the Russian enemy is trying to continue to implement its strategy. The strategy he started with was the complete occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. However, a small part of Luhansk region is still under the control of the Ukrainian army, and a large part of Donetsk region is also under the control of Ukraine. Russia will focus its efforts on taking control of the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk military agglomeration. That's why we see a serious intensification of Russian troops in the Lyman direction. That is, in the direction of Lyman, the Russian army will create preconditions for a further offensive in the direction of Slovyansk," explained Selezniov.
According to the Ukrainian colonel, the intensification of hostilities near Bakhmut is also due to the fact that the Russian army is trying to take control of Chasiv Yar, which is the key to our defense in the area of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.
"Russia will also try to cut off the Vuhledar ledge in order to move through Kostiantynivka in the same way towards Kramatorsk and Slovyansk," added Selezniov.
- Neither Russian nor Ukrainian troops have made any significant progress on the frontline over the past week, but the main goal of the Russian troops remains the encirclement of Avdiivka.
- Ukrainian troops repelled 122 Russian attacks in 8 sectors. Meanwhile, 127 combat engagements took place in the frontline yesterday. The Ukrainian Armed Forces killed 920 soldiers.
- Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, said that Russians have directed all their efforts to cut off logistics to Avdiivka.
