Russia attacks Ukraine with Shahed drones: Odesa targeted
Russian troops launched Shahed drones to attack Ukraine overnight on March 16 to 17. The attack struck the Odesa region, causing damage to two agricultural enterprises
The Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine reported the information.
According to reports, Russian troops conducted a significant drone attack on Odesa during the night, lasting approximately three hours. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted waves of Shahed drones launched from occupied Crimea, traversing the Black Sea and maneuvering through residential and industrial areas of Odesa.
13 Shahed-131/136 drones were shot down over the Odesa region, with one more intercepted in the sky over the Mykolaiv region.
However, the attack resulted in damage to two agricultural enterprises in the Odesa district, triggering fires and destruction of industrial buildings.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the fires have been extinguished.
The Air Force detected movement of Shahed drones towards Odesa at 11:23 p.m., originating from the Black Sea.
Subsequently, multiple groups of Shaheds were observed from the Black Sea, with locals reporting explosions in the city around midnight.
By approximately 02:30 a.m., the Air Forces successfully repelled the threat.

Earlier on the evening of March 14, Russia conducted another air attack with Shahed drones targeting the Vinnytsia region while activating air defense systems in the Kyiv region.
