Russia 'continuing to refrain' from striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Peskov says
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claims that the Russian army is currently "continuing to refrain" from striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure in accordance with an agreement with the United States
TASS reported the information.
According to Peskov, the order from Vladimir Putin to refrain from striking Ukrainian infrastructure is still in effect.
“The Russian armed forces are currently refraining from strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in accordance with the agreement reached between the US and Russia,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.
He added that the agreement stipulating that Moscow and Kyiv would not attack certain targets for 30 days currently applies only to energy infrastructure.
Energy ceasefire deal: what is known
On March 18, U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to both parties, they agreed on a limited stop in attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
That same evening, Russia launched drones at Ukraine. As a result of the attack, people were injured in the Kyiv region, and drone strikes were recorded in the Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
On March 21, the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff stated that Russia shelled the Sudzha gas metering station and baselessly accused Ukraine for the attack.
