161 combat clashes occur at front, Ukrainian Army repels 37 attacks in Pokrovsk direction - Ukraine's General Staff

Over July 3, 161 combat clashes took place at the frontline. Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off the largest number of attacks in the Pokrovsk direction

Russian attacks on Ukraine

On 3 July, Russian troops launched 6 missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine using 16 missiles. In addition, they carried out 36 air strikes (dropped 51 KAB bombs), used 303 kamikaze drones and fired over 2,600 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using various types of weapons. 

Situation on main frontline areas on 3 July

Over the past day, 161 combat clashes were recorded.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched six missile attacks (using sixteen missiles), 60 air strikes (involving 96 KABs), carried out over 4,000 attacks, 98 of them from MLRS, and used 1,246 kamikaze drones.

Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.

Eleven settlements in the Kharkiv region and in the city of Kharkiv; 11 settlements in the Donetsk region; 1 settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region; 4 settlements in the Kherson region were hit by air strikes.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia continued offensive (assault) actions with the support of aviation, a total of 15 combat clashes took place near Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Lyptsi.

In the Kupyansk direction there were 8 combat clashes over the day. Ukrainian defense forces fought off Russian attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops prevented 32 Russian attacks near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Luhansk region, Terny, Donetsk region, and Serebryanka forestry.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defense forces rebuffed three attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped eight Russian attempts to break through Ukrainian defences near Klishchiivka, Kalynivka, Ivanivka and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, Russia became significantly more active, launching 25 attacks, in particular near Dyliivka, Toretsk, Pivnichne and New York in the Donetsk region.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 37 Russian troops' attacks near Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Progress, Yasnobrodivka, Umanske and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian defence forces are holding back the Russian forces near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka, where the Russians tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defences 16 times.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Vodiane and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv direction, nine combat clashes took place near Robotyne and Shcherbaki in Zaporizhzhia.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops keep trying to drive the Ukrainian Defence Forces units from their positions at the bridgeheads. All three Russian attacks were unsuccessful.

On Ukraine's northern border, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There are no signs of Russian offensive groups forming.

  • Over the last day, 2 July, 158 combat clashes were registered on the frontline. Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to repel most of the Russian troops' attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
  • Over the past day, 2 July, Ukrainian defenders eliminated at least 1,180 Russian soldiers. In addition, Russia lost 16 tanks and 57 artillery systems.
