Even part of Putin's plan is defeat for Ukraine - diplomat Shamshur
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States (2005-2010) and Ukraine to France (2014-2020) Oleh Shamshur explained that if Ukraine had agreed to at least part of Vladimir Putin's "peace" plan, it would have lost
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
Regarding the Russian dictator's statements on the eve of the Peace Summit in Switzerland about his vision of a "truce", the diplomat said: "There is nothing unexpected in Putin's coming out with another batch of nonsense. For some time now, work has been going on in sync with China to disrupt the Forum and not even allow constructive discussion of the items on the agenda, and most importantly, to prevent as many representatives of the Global South as possible from attending. This is actually the main issue at the Forum."
Shamshur believes that one should not expect the enemy to offer adequate options for ending the war.
"It may not be diplomatic, but what else can you expect from these bastards? Of course, he puts forward the points he needs. Even agreeing to implement part of Putin's plan would be a defeat for Ukraine. It should be clear to everyone with the naked eye by now that there is no subject matter for a conversation with Putin, and there is no alternative. Our partners should understand this, and all assistance to Ukraine should be aimed at inflicting a deep military defeat on Russia, and this requires weapons and the removal of any restrictions on hitting targets on Russian territory. We will not hear anything new from Putin," the diplomat concluded.
