The strike, which damaged residential buildings, occurred on Good Friday, just before Easter.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy condemned the attack, stating, "One must be an outright scumbag and despise life to carry out such missile strikes on an ordinary city on Good Friday, the eve of Easter."
The Ukrainian president reiterated the need for Patriot missile systems to protect Ukraine from Russian missiles, adding, "Besides, helping is the Christian thing to do. Especially when there is a real opportunity to help." He also called for tough sanctions against Russia.
