On March 6, Ukrainian soldiers have repelled more than 140 Russian attacks. Meanwhile, Russian troops are trying to break through the defense in Kupiansk and Lyman directions

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the information in a morning briefing on March 7.

In order to protect their servicemen, the Russian army decided to use part of Luhansk's polyclinic as a barracks. Bunk beds for the personnel have already been delivered to the premises. 

At the same time, the management of the medical institution has to resolve a number of issues related to staff accommodation and patient reception.

Russian occupation authorities pressure residents of the Zaporizhzhia region and do not pay salaries to those without Russian passports

To achieve certain goals of issuing Russian passports, Russian occupation authorities continue to pressure residents of the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff emphasizes. 

Thus, in some settlements, since January 1, people who do not have a Russian passport cannot receive cash payments, including salaries. Payments must be made exclusively through Russian bank cards.

Russian troops are focused on launching an offensive in 5 directions, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 140 Russian attacks

Russian troops are focusing their main efforts on launching offensive actions in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions. 

Yesterday, March 6, Ukrainian troops repelled over 140 Russian attacks.

Russia launches 50 air and 5 missile strikes against Ukraine over the last day

In total, Russia launched 50 air and 5 missile strikes. In particular, during the air strikes, Russian troops launched 11 Shahed-136 UAVs, 9 of which were shot down. 

They also launched 59 MLRS attacks, in particular, at populated areas. 

The threat of missile attacks remains high throughout Ukraine.

The situation by directions

No offensive groups were detected on the northern and northwestern border with Belarus and Russia.

Over the past day, 2 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 5 in the Sumy region, and 7 more in the Kharkiv region were shelled.

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. They launched unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlements of Hryanykivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka and Fedorivka. 

Russian forces fired artillery near 5 settlements in the Kharkiv region,5 more in the Luhansk region, and 4 others in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, 

They also attacked near 5 more settlements, but were unsuccessful. 

Russian artillery and mortar attacks were recorded near 11 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions, Russian forces unsuccessfully launched offensives near 7 settlements in the Donetsk region. 

They shelled 11 settlements in the region. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are holding the defense line. 

In particular, 15 settlements in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions came under Russian fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces shoot down a Su-25, hit Russian personnel concentrations and air defense facilities

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 15 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations, as well as a strike on an anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position.

In addition to the Shahed-136 attack drones, Ukraine's defenders shot down a Russian Su-25 and 8 other drones of various types over the past day.

Missile and artillery units hit a Russian command post, 8 personnel concentrations, 2 air defense systems, an artillery unit at firing positions, an ammunition depot and a radar station.

 
  • Earlier, The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that the Russian command is trying to replenish units with wounded who are recognized by the military medical commission as fit for service.
