Russian forces launch 42 air and 5 missile strikes and fire from MLRS at populated areas – Ukrainian General Staff

During the day, the enemy carried out 42 air and 5 missile strikes, as well as more than 10 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, in particular, on populated areas

This was reported in the General Staff's update on Monday, March 6.

The threat of missile strikes remains significant across Ukraine.

Northern direction: Russian troops continue to launch mortar and artillery attacks along the entire border line. During the day, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells near the settlement of Senkivka in Chernihiv region; as well as at 4 more settlements in the Sumy region and 7 other villages in the Kharkiv region.

Kupiansk and Lyman directions: the enemy fired artillery near 4 settlements in Kharkiv region; 5 settlements in Luhansk region and four more in Donetsk region.

Bakhmut direction: Russian forces used artillery and mortars to attack the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, as well as other 4 settlements in Donetsk region.

Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk direction: areas near the contact line came under hostile fire, including: Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, as well as other 6 settlements in the Donetsk region.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson direction: Russian army attacked Vremivka in Donetsk region; Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Hulyaypilske, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region. Moreover 5 villages in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson were shelled.

The Russian command is trying to replenish units with wounded troops who are recognized by the military medical commission as fit for service

The enemy suffers significant losses in personnel every day, so it does not stop taking measures to replenish them. Recently, in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, military commissariats received instructions to clarify the personal data of reserve officers under the age of 65 inclusive. As well as soldiers, sergeants and warrant officers under the age of 50.

"A military medical commission is operating in the Donbas hotel in Kadiivka, temporarily occupied Luhansk region. The work is aimed at recognizing wounded servicemen of the 2nd Army Corps of the Russian occupation forces as fit for further return to duty. In this way, the Russian military leadership is trying to quickly restore its units," the statement reads.

Ukrainian Defense Forces’ aviation carried out 12 strikes at the areas of concentration of Russian personnel and military equipment over the day

It is reported that the Aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of occupiers’ personnel and military equipment over the day and struck an anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position.

In addition, missile and artillery units targeted 3 enemy concentration areas and an enemy air defense system at a firing position during the day.
