He told this on Espreso TV channel.

"The situation in the Avdiivka direction has not changed radically. The enemy continues to put pressure on our defense line. However, the invaders have slightly changed their tactics. Previously, they tried to put pressure on our defense line simultaneously along the entire direction, but now they are concentrating on separate areas. They are sending equipment and personnel there. Thus, they are trying to break through the defense line of our units," said Barabash.

According to Barabash, the Russian militants are trying to actively use equipment to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"This tactic does not change anything. Our guys repel everything and stop the Russian enemy. All the columns they send to storm our positions are successfully destroyed. The fact is that despite the weather conditions, the invaders are still trying to use equipment for offensive actions," he added.

  • On December 17, 54 combat clashes took place in the frontline. In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops
  • On December 18, the press center of the Ukrainian General Staff reported that in the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continued to hold back the Russian enemy, who kept trying to surround Avdiivka.
  • Also, the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, is convinced that Russian occupation forces will not be able to capture the city even before the presidential elections in Russia.
  • On December 19, the spokesperson for the Tavria Defense Forces press center, Oleksandr Shtupun, said that Russia had reduced the number of attacks on Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka, but they were using more infantry and equipment.
