The Romanian authorities are investigating this incident and have communicated it to the NATO Council," White noted, emphasizing that NATO member countries have shown solidarity with Romania.

Background
On the night of September 3-4, Russia launched a major attack in southern Ukraine using Iranian “kamikaze” drones. According to Ukrainian border guards, some of these drones crashed and exploded in Romania, a NATO member state. Dmytro Kuleba, the head of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mentioned that there is photo evidence of these drone incidents in Romania.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the drone attacks by Russia did not directly threaten their national territory or territorial waters.
On September 5, Romania's President, Klaus Iohannis, stated that neither Russian drones nor any of their parts landed on Romanian soil.
However, open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysts confirmed that a Russian drone did indeed crash in Romania near one of the border villages.
On Wednesday, September 6, a team from Romania's Ministry of National Defense discovered suspected pieces of a Russian drone on Romanian territory.
President Klaus Iohannis emphasized the need for an investigation into the reported drone wreckage on Romanian soil.
