Missile remnants found in Moldova have 80 kg of explosives
Yesterday, after the Russian massive shelling of Ukraine, missile fragments were found in the Moldova border region
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry on Telegram.
"An explosive device was found in the wreckage of a missile that fell yesterday near Larga. Citizens are advised not to approach the security zone where the explosive was found," the statement reads.
It is also noted that the operational group of border guards, during the inspection of the missile crash site, found its warhead. After that, a group of engineers from the separate Codru battalion of Moldova’s National Army was invited to thoroughly examine and establish a method of eliminating the danger.
"At the same time, due to the risks associated with the presence of explosives, the security zone has been increased, and groups of Moldova’s National Police and Border Police are taking special measures and ensuring perimeter protection to avoid danger to the public," the press service said.
The Ukrainian authorities were also informed about the presence of explosives in the warhead of the crashed missile. This is the third case when the remains of missiles from the shelling of Ukraine fall on the territory of the country.
Preliminary data states the warhead contains about 80 kilograms of explosives. Local residents are asked not to approach the place where the missile fell.
