Director of the Defense Express information and consulting company Serhiy Zgurets notes the Russian army lacks the strength and means to change the front line

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"In early October, the Russians launched an offensive in many areas, starting with Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. For 3 months, the invaders tried to influence the situation on the front line. However, if you look at the map, there have been no significant changes, except for the Russian capture of the completely destroyed Marinka. Even though in the Avdiivka sector the Russian troops lost about 13 thousand personnel and 400 armored vehicles, there are no positive changes for the enemy there either," noted Zgurets.

According to the military expert, Avdiivka is still being defended, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting counterattacks in the area of Stepove, where the invading Russian army has been pushed back towards the railroad.

"The situation remains difficult in all frontline areas, but the enemy lacks the strength and means to change the frontline. The fact that the Russian forces will try to create a security line deep into Ukrainian territory, in particular in the Kharkiv area or other areas in the north, does not seem realistic and rational. The Russian army has up to 20 thousand personnel in these areas. There is no information on force accumulation. In fact, the Russians are burning up all their reserves on the 850-kilometer contact line," emphasized Zgurets.

  • Political analyst Oleksandr Antoniuk believes that as long as the war takes place exclusively on Ukrainian territory, we will always be at a disadvantage.
  • Major Nadiia Zamryha, head of the public relations service of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted significant losses on the Russian forces in the Kupyansk direction.

  • Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in 8 directions in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. Also, the Armed Forces eliminated 800 occupants and 13 armored vehicles over the day.
