96 clashes occur at front over last day, Russian troops attack in 11 directions - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the last day, August 7, 96 combat clashes took place at the front. Russian troops attacked in 11 directions, most actively in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported as of 8:00 a.m. on August 8.

According to the updated information, over the last day the Russian aggressor launched three missile attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas using five missiles, as well as 69 air strikes, dropping 110 combat vehicles. In addition, it fired over 5,200 times, 114 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

22 settlements were hit by air strikes.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the number of attacks increased to three over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian assaults near Vovchansk and Tykhe. 

In the Kupyansk direction, there were five attempts by Russians to advance near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, and towards Novoosynove.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops attacked 12 times near Novoserhiivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Torske, and in Serebryanske forestry.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed six Russian assault attacks near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske, and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian troops attacked seven times, concentrating all their efforts near Chasiv Yar.

 In the Toretsk direction, the Russians carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Pivnichne, New York, Zalizne and Toretsk. The Russian aggressor conducted 19 air strikes on Toretsk and the adjacent territories, dropping more than three dozen guided bombs.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders fought off 28 attacks in the vicinity of ten different settlements. Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Karlivka and Hrodivka are the main areas of concentration of the Russian invaders' efforts. With the support of aviation, the Russians tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces beat back five Russian attacks near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka.

 In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops made two attempts to advance from Volodymyrivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, one combat engagement took place in the vicinity of Robotyne.

 In the Prydniprovskyi direction, all four Russian troops' attacks were unsuccessful. 

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

 On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russians are shelling localities from Russian territory and conducting air strikes.
