85 combat clashes occur at front, mainly in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the start of August 6, there have been 85 combat engagements reported at the front, with 22 occurring in the Pokrovsk sector

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information as of 4:00 p.m.

Border areas in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions are being shelled from Russian territory. Today, artillery and mortar fire hit the settlements of Porozok, Bobylivka, Katerynivka, Studenok, Bachivsk, Bila Bereza, Mezenivka, Volfyne, Iskryskivshchyna, Basivka, Myropillia, Karpovychi, Hremiach, and Buchky. Additionally, Russian forces conducted an airstrike on Pysarivka.

At the same time, the Kharkiv region is facing continuous bombardment from Russian aircraft. Since the start of the day, the Russian army has launched two airstrikes from the Russian cities of Belgorod and Shebekino using three aerial guided bombs. The strikes targeted Vovchansk and Hlyboke. Additionally, Russian troops fired an Iskander-M missile at the city of Kharkiv.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia launched two attacks near Lyptsi and Vovchansk, with one battle still ongoing.

In the Kupyansk sector, there were three firefights. The Russian army advanced towards Synkivka and Kolesnykivka, and one of these attacks is still active. Additionally, Russia fired 18 unguided aerial missiles in the area of Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman sector, the invading forces launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka, Torske, Nevske, Terny, and the Serebryansky forest. Twelve of these battles have concluded, while three are still ongoing. Additionally, Russian troops used three aerial guided bombs in the area near Borova.

In the Siversk sector, there were 16 firefights during the day. Russia advanced near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Pereizne, Spirne, and Ivano-Daryivka. Currently, three battles are ongoing near Bilohorivka and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army launched five assaults near Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske. Ukrainian defense forces repelled four of these attacks, and one attack is still in progress.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces intensified their attacks to a total of 13, targeting areas near New York, Toretsk, and Pivnichne. Of these, ten battles have been concluded, and three are still ongoing. Additionally, the occupying army launched 20 air strikes and deployed 26 aerial guided bombs against Kleban-Byk, Katerynivka, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces conducted assault operations in Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zhelanne, Oleksandrivka, Kalynove, Vesele, Ivanivka, Kalynivka, Skuchne, and Yasnobrodivka. Ukrainian defense forces are successfully holding back the Russian onslaught, repelling 14 attacks so far, with eight firefights still in progress. The exact extent of Russian losses in this area is yet to be determined. Russia also conducted 11 airstrikes targeting Oleksandropil, Novohrodivka, Mykolaivka, Zhuravka, Skuchne, and Mykhailivka.

In the Kurakhove sector, the occupation forces made seven attacks near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka but were repelled.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russia used aviation to conduct 12 unguided missile strikes near Zaliznychne.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian forces made two unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions.

In other areas of the front, the situation remained unchanged.

  • Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 1,050 Russian soldiers, as well as a number of vehicles and weapons during combat operations at the front.
