No new military activity on Belarusian-Ukrainian border, but threat remains - Ukrainian Border Guard Service
Spokesman for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko says that the movement of Belarusian units is taking place deep into the territory of Belarus
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"To create the picture that the Belarusian Defense Ministry has been promoting, certain units are being moved. However, this is happening deep inside Belarusian territory. On the border with Ukraine, we do not observe any movement of equipment or personnel from Belarusian army units," Demchenko noted.
According to a spokesperson for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, Belarus is maintaining forces near the Ukrainian border, but at a certain distance. Therefore, the situation remains unchanged.
"However, I emphasize once again that this direction remains a threat to us. We remember when Belarus opened its border to Russian troops. We also see the constant rhetoric of Belarus. Therefore, as long as Belarus is under Russia's influence, this direction will remain extremely important for us," Demchenko emphasized.
- On August 11, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported that Belarusian tanks had moved to the border areas with Ukraine after the Minister of Defense ordered troops to the border.
- Belarusian public figure Sergei Bulba noted that Lukashenko's recent trip to Putin ended in failure.
